Good Enough To Eat (2025): Commission
Pencil on paper. A2, (21 x 29.7 cm).
Good Enough To Eat was created for Sugar’s, an independent artisan dessert spot in Bexley Village. Inspired by the colour, texture and indulgence of the food itself, the piece leans into the playful, sensory side of the space. The title was sparked by Sugar by Chaka Khan – a track Daniel couldn’t shake while working on it, especially the line ‘sugar, good enough to eat’.
Now positioned in the shop window, it reflects Sugar’s role as a social hub for the local community – a place shaped as much by its events and activities as its desserts. With a strong focus on children and families, it speaks to the energy, creativity and shared moments that define the space, capturing a sense of joy that extends well beyond what’s on the menu.
