Good Enough To Eat (2025): Commission

Pencil on paper. A2, (21 x 29.7 cm).

Good Enough To Eat was created for Sugar’s, an independent artisan dessert spot and community hub in Bexley Village. Alongside its handcrafted treats, Sugar’s creates a welcoming space for families, with activities and experiences that bring children and the local community together.

Inspired by the colour, texture and indulgence of the food itself, the artwork captures the playful and sensory character of the space. The title was inspired by the song Sugar by Chaka Khan, with the lyrics “good enough to eat” perfectly reflecting the joy, creativity and sweetness at the heart of the piece.

Following completion of the original drawing, the artwork was professionally scanned and developed into a bespoke edition for Sugar’s shop window, featuring a hand-drawn logo. The final commissioned piece can be viewed in the additional images.
