Life’s A Drag (2025): Studio Work
Pencil and pastel with jewel embellishment on black card, (59.4 x 84.1 cm).
Life’s a Drag explores the tension between performance and the person behind it. Inspired by a legendary drag scene performer, the piece reflects the confidence, power and spectacle of drag, while still holding onto the quieter, more human presence beneath.
Built through layered drawing, metallic colour and hand-applied embellishment, the work balances glamour with vulnerability, celebrating drag as both self-expression and survival.
